Calling all greenfingered gardeners !

One of the prime aims of the Transition movement  is to localise food production by encouraging people to ‘grow their own’. With this is mind we  hold an annual seed and plant swap every year in May at the Farmers Market and have started a community garden too.

This is an appeal to all gardeners to grow a few extra plants in 2014, either veg, fruit or flowers, to swop at the stall and  for the Community Garden at Hexham Middle School. Any plants, seeds, cuttings etc will be welcome.

Bring your seeds and seedlings to the market stall and swop them for others you want to grow. A chance to try something new, replace those the slugs ate, or just pass on all those spare tomato seedlings ! If you don’t have something to swap then donations accepted
